Over the last century, deep pools, stable stream banks, and narrow stream channels slowly changed to shallow, wide, eroding streams; the “old swimming hole” was often buried under a mound of sand and gravel.

Removing excess gravel plays a vital part in restoring the natural flow of the creeks and streams.

Why does restoring the rivers matter to those who live in our area?

The record-breaking rain and devastating flooding we experienced in 2017 caused widespread damage and devastation, especially to people who live in the Ozarks River flood overflow corridor. People are understandably concerned and looking for what can be done to prevent this from happening again. If not restored, it could actually increase flood risk in other areas.

About us

Improving local stream and bank erosion

The owners of Eleven Point Sand and Gravel are two local business entrepreneurs that have lived near the creeks of the Ozarks for all of their lives. After the historic flood of 2017 came through our local community, we saw the devastation it left on the riverways, creeks, and streams.

After much discussion, we decided how we can help our local environment. What can we do to “give back”? That is when we contacted the Department of Natural Resources and we formed a plan with them to partner on the improvement of stream and bank erosion.
